Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it could increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Item Stats

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the probability of obtaining items, the properties that are generated by loot, and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a possibility to obtain better equipment in earlier waves and is therefore more valuable in the initial game run as opposed to later ones, because most players value more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.

Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading which increases with each level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can spawn or be crafted with the Luck property, which has the default value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to add another 40 luck or to increase the luck of the item to 140.

Furthermore, certain items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items are available in the shops or made by using the appropriate ingredients.
